St Edmund, Allestree, Derbyshire

04/02/2015: (Locked). This churchyard contains one of my favourite headstones. Edmund Buxton died 1790 aged 32 years. His stone reads "To this thou must come; Remember and be ready". His wife Joanna died 47 years later and is buried with him. They share a headstone. Her part reads "My Love I am come; and have endeavoured to be ready." Even Frank's flinty old heart softens a bit at that.
